#GalleryCurator Interview:
Lawrence Wong

Mr. Nice Guy, Lawrence Wong, commands a huge presence on the big screen. Down-to-earth and soft-spoken, the actor is the quintessential multi-hyphenate, juggling singing, modelling and hosting gigs alongside his acting duties. We grabbed the opportunity to speak with the talented star to find out “Who is the real Lawrence?”

What would be the soundtrack to your life? Do you have to describe your life?
Star Wars’ Imperial March, just for the drama.

Movies or television?
I am currently obsessed with American Horror Story. The characters are very real; they’re very sad, depressed and yet apathetic.

What do you do to stay healthy?
Exercising, watching my diet, drinking loads of water. I do try to avoid consuming unhealthy foods, but the key word is “try”.

What is your perfect pizza?
It must be loaded with pineapple, ham, salami, shrimps, scallops, rockets, mushroom and cheese on a tomato-based stuffed crust pizza.

If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Japanese food.

Who is Lawrence, in three words?
Cat-lover, chill, passionate

What should I do if I want to make a good impression on Lawrence?
Be natural. No better way to be natural than smiling.

What was the last lie you told?
I told someone I was sleeping, when I was actually in the toilet.

What would people hear if they could read your mind?
I need a nap…

I travel to…
Japan – it’s my favourite place. I like the food, culture, environment, the shopping!

Favourite workout
Swimming gives me inner peace; I’m able to shut everything out of my mind.

Easiest recipe?
Baked chicken breast. I season it with pepper and herbs (rosemary or parsley).

Alternatively, air frying. Just throw in a slab of salmon for 10 minutes, no oil needed whatsoever. Healthy and easy. The perfect recipe.

Is there a health food you like, a superfood?
Cauliflower rice.

Best food combo?
Pizza and beer.

Boxers or briefs
Boxers; I like my space.

Weights or cardio

Manscaping or au natural
Au natural.

Aliens or predators
Aliens, there’s a chance they have powers.

Naughty or nice
Naughty. Here’s the deal: I generally have a nice-guy look so nobody expects naughty.
